Who We Are
Happizora Hospitality Limited operates a boutique resort in Hokitika, combining 48 rooms and suites, a gourmet restaurant, a modern conference hall and a private event salon. We host guests, corporate events and closed-door evenings — always in person, always at our physical venue.
Our Story
Happizora was founded in 2014 by Alexander Whitmore, a hotelier with two decades of experience in premium hospitality across Europe and Oceania. After acquiring a historic building on Davie Street, Whitmore spent two years restoring it into an intimate resort focused on privacy and personal service.
The first guests arrived in 2016, and the conference hall opened a year later. In 2019, the private salon was added — a space designed for exclusive, invitation-only evenings. Today, under Whitmore's continued ownership, Happizora remains an independent, family-run venue known for discretion and attention to detail.
